NEW: Trump Says “We Have the Greatest Economy” While Everyday Americans Struggle To Make Ends Meet Arrow

59% of Americans disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy, his highest of either term

During an interview with Larry Kudlow on Fox News today, Donald Trump doubled down on his failing economy, saying, "We have the greatest economy actually ever in history." In reality, Trump continues to make the economy a living hell for everyday Americans.

As prices continue to soar and working families stretch their paychecks to pay rising bills, loan delinquencies rose to 4.8% of household debt during Q4 2025, the highest since 2017. The share of credit card loans in serious delinquency surged to a staggering 12.7%, the highest since the Great Recession recovery, and the share of student loans transitioning to serious delinquency increased at the greatest rate on record.

On top of that, US long-term unemployment has hit a 4-year high, and last month, U.S.-based employers cut 108,435 jobs and announced just 5,306 new hires - the lowest number on record since 2009.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"Donald Trump continues to gaslight everyday Americans about his failing economy. Here's the truth: Millionaires and billionaires are doing great while everyone else struggles to get by in Trump's economy. There's no sugarcoating the pain working families are feeling as prices continue to skyrocket and jobs disappear. Trump and Vance have made their priorities clear: Their billionaire buddies and wealthy donors get kickbacks while everyday Americans get left behind."
