The Gauge™: Poland | June 2026

June brought stabilization to the television market. Poles spent an average of 3 hours and 36 minutes a day in front of their TV screens - exactly the same as in May, and one minute less than in June last year. Although slightly fewer people sat in front of the screens, they watched television for longer. In traditional programming, the largest audiences were drawn by the broadcasts of the World Cup matches and the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole (TVP1), as well as the traditionally popular "Fakty" newscast on TVN.

Streaming's share remained stable at 10.7% of total viewership, while cable television experienced the strongest structural growth. Within the online segment itself, there were minor shifts among the main players. YouTube defended its leading position despite a slight decline in share to 2.3% (compared to 2.4% in May). Meanwhile, Netflix continued its stable upward trend and strengthened its position, reaching a 1.9% share (compared to 1.8% the previous month).

About The Gauge™

The Gauge™ was created to provide the media industry with a monthly analysis of television usage across key television delivery platforms. Nielsen published its first edition of The Gauge™ in the U.S. in May 2021.

About The Gauge™ Methodology

The data comes from Nielsen's single-source panel consisting of 3,500 households and almost 9,700 panelists. The Gauge™: Poland is based on monthly AMR (Average Minute Rating) audience share data. The data is presented for people over 4 years old, broken down into cable, satellite, terrestrial television (both linear and shifted in time up to 7 days), and viewership from streaming (live streaming viewership of TV stations on OTT platforms is classified as streaming viewership). The "Other" category includes views of unrecognized content.

Nielsen Poland created this iteration of The Gauge™ using methodologies comparisons.
