Help spread cheer this year at the Angel Tree Kick-Off on Nov. 19

The Oklahoma State University Student Volunteer Center and Off-Campus Student Association invite students, staff, faculty and the Stillwater community to help celebrate the start of the holiday season at the Annual Angel Tree Kick-Off Event.

Come to adopt an angel and stay for the complimentary hot cocoa, special guest appearances and meet the live reindeer.

Event Details:

• Date: Wednesday, Nov. 19
• Time: 1-3 p.m.
• Location: Student Union Plaza

"The Angel Tree provides a special tradition at OSU and gives our students, faculty and staff an opportunity to support those in the Stillwater community," said Haley Osiek, Student Volunteer Center coordinator. "This effort truly embodies what it means to be an engaged citizen and to give back in a direct and meaningful way."

The SVC and OCSA encourage student organizations, departments and teams to participate together. Adopting an angel as a group is a great way to make a greater impact on an angel's Christmas, while helping to spread the cost among team members. For example, a group of 10 people contributing $15 each can easily cover $150 in gifts for an angel.

How to Participate:

1. Adopt an angel: Attend the Angel Tree Kick-Off Event or visit the tree display, which will be located on the second floor of the Student Union outside of the Campus Life Lounge after the event, to select a tag off the tree. Each tag represents an individual and includes their wish list of items.
2. Shop for your gift: Purchase items listed on the tag. Participants are encouraged to commit to fulfilling the requested wish list.
3. Return the gift: Bring the unwrapped gift back to the SU 211 front desk by Dec. 5 by 5 p.m.
4. Entered to win: Those who return their Angel Tree gifts by the Dec. 5 deadline will be entered to win a prize from SVC and OCSA.
