Rochester Woman Receives Probation for Possession of Illegal Handgun

Tuesday, June 23, 2026

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Tenitia R. Cullum, 34, of Rochester, was sentenced this morning before Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to three years of probation.

On Saturday, March 23, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m., security officers and members of the Erie County Sheriff's Office found an illegal, loaded handgun inside of a diaper bag at the KeyBank Center in the City of Buffalo. The illegal weapon was discovered after the defendant placed the bag through the x-ray scanner ahead of the entrance to a circus event at the arena.

In April 2025, Cullum pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class D violent felony). She was placed on one year of interim probation while pending sentence.

DA Keane commends the KeyBank Center security officers and members of the Erie County Sheriff's Office for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kristen S. Fischer of the Felony Trials Bureau.
