Support Lakewood's tree canopy through the Annual Tree Sale

Published on February 12, 2026

Lakewood residents continue to show their love for trees through the popular Lakewood Annual Tree Sale. The city will host its fourth annual sale beginning at 10 a.m. March 2, and open while supplies last. The Lakewood Tree Sale encourages residents to support an increased tree canopy and progress toward city sustainability goals.

Deeply discounted trees will be offered at $25 per tree, up to 1-inch caliper, with a limit of three trees of different species per household. A supply including unique and diverse species of trees that thrive in the Colorado climate will be available this year. Trees vary in height and weight; residents can expect them to be between 4 and 12 feet in height and approximately 50 pounds in weight.

"The tree sale is an exciting opportunity to offer our residents trees at discounted prices, reducing the financial barrier to buying trees and supporting the city's sustainability goals," said Forestry Supervisor Eric Shardlow.

Tree pickup will be Saturday, April 18 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the City Greenhouse, 9556 W. Yale Ave. Staff will be available to assist with loading trees. Learn more about the tree species, planting and care instructions, at LakewoodCO,gov/TreeSale.

Residents can gain real-time access to the city's tree data and view tree canopies by city ward, ZIP code and more, using the TreePlotter™ tree canopy map to see the canopy in their neighborhoods.
