Scott: No ICE Funding Without Reforms

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 7744, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026.:

"Donald Trump initiated a reckless war of choice with Iran, but that does not mean Congress must continue funding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) without meaningful reforms, especially after ICE agents have terrorized communities, violated the Constitution, and killed American citizens."

Congressman Scott is a cosponsor of H.R. 7481, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026. That legislation provides FY26 funds for all of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) except for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), ICE, and the Office of the Secretary.
