Project Announcement: Audit of the Department of the Air Force's Management of Excess Real Property (Project No. D2025-D000AV-0151.000)
Audit
The purpose of this memorandum is to notify you that we are initiating the subject audit. The objective of this audit is to assess the effectiveness of the Department of the Air Force's efforts to manage excess property through consolidation, repurposing, or disposal. We may revise the objective as the audit proceeds, and we will also consider suggestions from management for additional or revised objectives. We plan to perform this audit in accordance with the Government Accountability Office's generally accepted government auditing standards.
We will perform the audit at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado; Eareckson Air Station, Alaska; Vandenberg Space Force Base, California; Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina; and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson; Alaska. We may identify additional locations during the audit.
