ACE Welcomes Action to Make Nationwide, Year-Round E15 Permanent

Today, the American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) welcomed the introduction of an amendment to the House farm bill to enable the year-round, nationwide sale of ethanol blends up to 15 percent (E15). This action is led by the House's E15 Rural Domestic Energy Council, co-chaired by U.S. Representatives Randy Feenstra (IA) and Stephanie Bice (OK). ACE CEO Brian Jennings issued the following statement:

"We're grateful leaders of the E15 Rural Domestic Energy Council introduced this important legislation which would once and for all ensure nationwide and permanent E15 availability, delivering immediate relief at the pump, strengthening U.S. energy security, boosting a hurting farm economy, and restoring certainty to the marketplace.

"Certain refiners have been holding E15 legislation hostage for far too long and Americans are feeling significant pain at the pump. Congress needs to decide if it will finally allow lower-cost E15 to be sold nationwide or let refiners continue to block Americans from saving money at the pump. Ongoing Middle East market instability underscores the urgency of this action, and we look forward to working with Republican and Democratic champions of E15 in both the House and Senate to get this across the finish line."
