The student design teams at Ball State University's Studio 165+ have received two 2024 American Graphic Design Awards from Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) magazine.
These honors recognize the students' exceptional creativity and collaboration on the 2024-25 season posters for Ball State's Department of Theatre and Dance and the 2024 Annual Student Show for Ball State's School of Art.
Both projects will be prominently featured in GDUSA's upcoming Design Annual print edition and are currently showcased on the magazine's website.
"These awards highlight the collaborative nature of our college and the extraordinary work of our design and theatre students," said Shantanu Suman, associate professor of art at Ball State and founder of Studio 165+. "Our students consistently demonstrate the power of creativity and teamwork to produce impactful, professional-level designs."
Studio 165+, a student-led graphic design studio, integrates real-world projects into the academic experience, providing students with opportunities to hone their skills while making meaningful contributions to campus and the broader community. Since its establishment in 2017, the studio has partnered with various clients and earned recognition for more than 35 projects, including multiple GDUSA awards.
"This is just the beginning," Prof. Suman added. "As we prepare for the 2025-26 season poster designs, I am excited to see what our talented students create next."
The 2024 American Graphic Design Awards mark the 61st anniversary of GDUSA's flagship competition, celebrating the best in print, digital, and interactive design across more than two dozen categories. Open to design professionals and students alike, the awards honor innovative and compelling work from across the creative industry.
