Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies Adds Alex Calabro as Principal in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, September 28, 2026 - Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies, the bipartisan government relations and communications affiliate of international law firm Cozen O'Connor, today announced the addition of Alex Calabro as principal in its Washington, D.C., office.

"Alex brings a sophisticated understanding of the federal policymaking process, deep relationships across Capitol Hill and the advocacy community, and a proven record of advancing complex policy priorities," said Howard Schweitzer, CEO of Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies. "His experience engaging senior policymakers, corporate stakeholders, and trade associations will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our team."

Calabro brings extensive experience in federal government relations, political strategy, and stakeholder engagement. In his new role, he will support the firm's Washington, D.C., practice, helping clients navigate legislative and regulatory processes and achieve their federal government relations objectives.

"I'm excited to join Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies and work alongside a team with an outstanding reputation for delivering results," Calabro said. "I look forward to helping clients navigate complex policy challenges and advance their priorities in Washington."

Most recently, Calabro served as senior advisor, federal government relations at Exxon Mobil Corporation, where he led the company's advocacy efforts with House Democrats, managed relationships with key industry trade associations, advised senior executives on legislative and political developments, and helped advance federal policy priorities. He also led corporate engagement with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the Congressional Black Caucus.

Previously, Calabro served as PAC director and Mid-Atlantic deputy finance director for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, where he raised more than $13 million and served as a primary liaison to Fortune 500 government affairs teams on political engagement and strategy. He also advised and staffed Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) during high-level political meetings and fundraising events while building relationships with U.S. senators, congressional staff, and government relations leaders.

Earlier in his career, Calabro was an associate at Chraca Friedman Group, where he managed fundraising programs for Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.). He helped raise more than $14 million for Markey's 2020 campaign committee and leadership PAC while developing relationships with donors, trade association executives, labor representatives, and advocacy leaders.

Calabro earned a Bachelor of Arts in public administration from Miami University, where he graduated cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
