Poeppel and Papathanasiou to Speak at CTBUH 2019 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference

Langan Managing Principal Alan Poeppel, PE and Senior Associate Tasos Papathanasiou, PE will present at the upcoming CTBUH 2019 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference, to be held April 8 - 10 in Shenzhen, China.

Poeppel will present on the The Future of Geotechnical Engineering in Tall Buildings, while Papathanasiou will present on Avalon Brooklyn Bay, both to be held during day two of the conference.

Poeppel has managed major projects around the world, including supertall tower projects in India and the Middle East, such as Kuala Lumpur City Center and Jeddah Tower. He specializes in the coordination and supervision of subsurface investigations, establishment and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation, designs for shallow and deep foundation systems; and evaluation of earth and rock slope stability.

Papathanasiou has diverse experience managing large-scale multi-disciplinary projects globally, including geotechnical and environmental investigations, site evaluations, foundation design, and stormwater management. He has also provided technical advisory services for motorway and airport concession projects in Greece, Cyprus, and Eastern Europe.
