Lady A shared a sneak peek of an unreleased ballad that's "truly carrying us right now."
The trio - made up of Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley - quickly recorded the song to include it on their upcoming album. Lady A shared in a caption on Instagram that Scott received he song the day before they finished the project in the studio.
"We cut it the next day and then, a week later, we learned of Charles' cancer diagnosis," the caption stated. "We cut it the next day and then, a week later, we learned of Charles' cancer diagnosis."
"I've seen 'I do' go from better or worse/ To a courtroom deciding what's his and what's hers/ I've seen two lines and a room painted pink/ 12-week appointment, can't find a heartbeat/ I've seen remission going on five years/ When that hold-your-breath scan doesn't come back clear/ Sometimes I shout when I'm praying my prayers/ Can You even hear me up there? It's hard to believe it/ When all that we're seeing/ Is one little frame at a time/ We all have our version/ Of our picture perfect/ But He has one better in mind/ There's days when I doubt it/ Got questions about it/ But God knows I gotta believe/ He's painting a bigger picture for me"Kelley, 45, recently opened up about his cancer diagnosis in a video with his wife, Cassie Kelley, 43, by his side. The singer-songwriter explained that his doctors "found a blood cancer in there called multiple myeloma, and it's rare. …(But) I feel really hopeful. I really do." Later, he shared that he was "overwhelmed by the support " he received after announcing his diagnosis. His bandmates were among many to offer support to Kelley. Scott wrote in a comment on Instagram that Kelley and his wife are "the strongest duo right there! Love y'all so much! You've got this! ❤️" Haywood said in his own comment that he's "covering you in prayer brother. Love y'all. We're all here for you!"
Lady A didn't share additional details about the song or upcoming album as of publication time on Monday (October 5). Watch the clip here:
