National Night Out returns with resources, culture and community spirit

As the sun sets over Tyler on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hillside Park, 1111 E. Erwin St., neighbors will gather for an evening that is about more than food, music and fun. National Night Out has grown into a tradition that celebrates connections between families, first responders, community leaders and the many organizations that call Tyler home.

This year's celebration will feature:

  • Cultural Performances - A brand-new lineup of Baile Folklorico and Aztec dancers.

  • Community Resources - Nonprofits and organizations offering information and assistance.

  • Legal Services - The Hispanic American Association will host attorneys and service providers offering free consultations to the public.

The event is sponsored by the Hispanic American Association of East Texas, Councilman James Wynne, and Paulina Pedroza.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Tyler Police Officers will also attend community block parties on Oct. 7 to connect with residents, build positive relationships, and support community safety.
