First Ever Taste of French Street Takes Place on Saturday

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (May 8, 2026) - The inaugural Taste of French Street festival, a community-driven celebration designed to highlight the culinary diversity and cultural heritage of one of New Brunswick's most historic commercial corridors, will take place Saturday, May 9.

The event is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 9 Livingston Ave., the site of the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC). Organizers say the festival serves as a platform for local small businesses to showcase their flavors and stories while fostering deeper connections with residents and visitors.

Attendees can expect an afternoon featuring food samples from neighborhood vendors, live music, and traditional cultural dances. The initiative aims to honor the unique traditions that define the French Street business district, emphasizing the role of local entrepreneurs in strengthening the City's social fabric.

Organizers describe the gathering as an opportunity for the community to discover new flavors and support the small businesses that continue to enrich the region's cultural landscape.
