Sen. Wicker Statement on Justices Chamberlin and Maxwell’s Confirmation to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi

WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., released the following statement after the Senate voted to confirm Justices Robert "Bobby" Chamberlin and James "Jimmy" Maxwell to be Judges on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.

"Bobby Chamberlin and Jimmy Maxwell are dedicated public servants who have served Mississippi well for decades. As Mississippi Supreme Court Justices, they have upheld the Constitution, exercised sound judgment, and lived with integrity. They are highly respected by Mississippians who deal regularly with the court system. I am confident in Justices Chamberlin and Maxwell's ability to administer the rule of law and serve Mississippians with honor as Federal Judges."

Senators Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., introduced Justices Chamberlin and Maxwell at their nomination hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. President Trump nominated them for U.S. District Court positions on August 12th.
