24/7 closure of Halekō Road to Kukui Grove Shopping Center beginning September 8
Posted on Sep 1, 2026 in Highways News, Main, NewsLĪHUʻE, Hawai'i - The Hawai'i Department of Transportation notifies road users of the 24/7 closure of Halekō Road to Nāwiliwili Road in the westbound direction, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Tuesday, Sept. 15, for concrete work. The project is part of the Uahi Ridge Housing development.
Vehicles on Halekō Road west of Nāwiliwili Road will be detoured to Kukui Grove Street. To access Kukui Grove Center, highway users will have to turn right from Kukui Grove Street onto Nāwiliwili Road, then left onto Kaumualiʻi Highway, then left at the next signal. Signs will be posted directing drivers to the detour.
The 24/7 closure will be added to the roadwork notice for the upcoming week at https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/kauai/. All work is weather permitting.
