NCCU Law Alumnus D. Cole Phelps Appointed District Court Judge

North Carolina Central University School of Law alumnus D. Cole Phelps '13 has been appointed as a District Court judge for Judicial District 2, serving Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington counties.

Gov. Josh Stein announced Phelps' appointment to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Regina Parker '92 to the Superior Court.

Phelps is the founder and managing partner of The Law Office of D. Cole Phelps, PLLC, and serves as legal counsel for the Town of Robersonville.

With the appointment, Phelps joins the distinguished ranks of 171 NCCU School of Law alumni serving as judges across North Carolina. An additional 34 alumni serve on benches in other states.
