Senators Secure $5 Million for MaineGeneral Technology

MaineGeneral Health thanks Senator Susan Collins and Senator Angus King for advocating for health care funding in the latest appropriations bill.

The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026 included $5 million in Congressionally Directed Spending for MaineGeneral Health's transition to Epic software. The bill was passed and signed into law on Feb. 3, 2026.

Nathan Howell, president & CEO of MaineGeneral Health, publicly thanked the Senators for their support of this important project:

"We are grateful for the Senators' support for the FY2026 CDS funding to assist MaineGeneral's transition to Epic, a single, state-of-the-art electronic health records system. This is a significant investment that will benefit patients by giving them a single access point for their health care information, scheduling, telehealth, preventive health and electronic payments. Additionally, medical care teams will have real-time access to patient data and tools to enhance care coordination."
