Winnipeg, MB - At 3:31 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a report of an explosion and fire at an industrial building in the 600 block of Mission Street.
When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames coming from a storage building on the property. Firefighters quickly launched a fire attack and declared the fire under control at 3:50 p.m. The fire did not extend to the main structure.
The WFPS HazMat team also responded because industrial chemicals were stored at the location. After assessing the scene, they confirmed that large quantities of chemicals were not involved in the fire.
All employees evacuated safely before crews arrived, and no injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
