The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct an in-person public hearing concerning the rehabilitation/replacement of Cribari Memorial Bridge (Bridge No. 01349) carrying Route 136 over Saugatuck River on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Westport Town Hall, Auditorium,located at110 Myrtle Avenueat 6:00 pm.
The public hearing is being held to provide information and solicit feedback about the proposed project. This hearing will begin as an open house at 6:00 p.m. where individualscan discuss any questions for the CTDOT project staff. A formal presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m.

"The purpose of this project is to address the structural and functional deficiencies of the existing bridge while accommodating safe vehicular, bicycle, pedestrian, and marine travel," said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager James Barrows. "We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design."
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project include partial easements for construction access and laydown areas. No permanent right-of-way impacts are anticipated.
Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2030 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The exact cost will be determined based on scope of the project and selected alternative.
