AUC Chairperson met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees

Chairperson of the AU Commission H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf met with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, H.E. Filippo Grandi this morning . They exchanged views on the regional displacement context & reaffirmed the imperative for coherent & coordinated regional & international responses. The Chairperson welcomed UNHCR's continued partnership with the AU. They both underscored the importance of development-driven, sustainable approaches that empower displaced populations & promote self-reliance, while calling on international partners & governments to enhance their support.
