U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon today announced the "Returning Education to the States" Tour. As the Department works to fulfill President Trump's commitment to return education to the states, Secretary McMahon will visit all 50 U.S. states to hear from students, teachers, and school leaders about education models that are accelerating learning outcomes and are meeting the needs of families and local communities.
Secretary McMahon will celebrate the tour's official kick-off in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee next week.
"President Trump entrusted me with a vital mission to return education to the states, and part of that is learning best practices from each state," said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. "As students head back to school, I will travel across our great nation to visit classrooms, listen to voices on the ground, and spotlight the incredible work happening at the local level. I am eager to hear directly from students, educators, and local leaders about the bold ideas that can propel success, while also exploring how we can ensure every family has the freedom to choose the educational path that best fits their child's needs."
