Bain Fire: Information for Riverside Residents

A message from the City of Riverside Office of Emergency Management / Ready Riverside :

The City of Riverside wants to ensure your safety and provide timely information regarding the Bain Fire. The safety of you and your loved ones is the top priority. Please stay informed, stay prepared, and follow all directions from public safety personnel.

All emergencies, DIAL 9-1-1.

UPDATE, 7:45 PM, 5/19

Full closure on Jurupa Ave. from Van Buren Blvd. to Wilderness Ave.

Evacuation Centers:

  • La Sierra Community Center - 5215 La Sierra Ave.
  • Villegas Community Center - 3091 Esperanza Street

The Bain Fire is approximately 300 yards past Van Buren Blvd. and is still pushing east and heading north, with warnings now issued up to Ryan Bonaminio Park.

An additional evacuation center is open to residents at:

  • Villegas Community Center - 3091 Esperanza Street

Residents south of Jurupa Ave., between Van Buren Blvd. and Crest Ave., the fire may impact your area. Be prepared to evacuate.

Road Closures:

  • All directions on Tyler St. between Jurupa Ave. and Arlington Ave.
  • All directions on Arlington Ave. between Crest Ave. and Crestview Dr.
  • Westbound traffic along Jurupa Ave. between Tyler St. and Van Buren Blvd.

Drone/UAS Notice: All private drones and UAS devices must stop flying in the area immediately. A drone incursion has forced a temporary halt to aerial firefighting operations. Flying drones near wildfire activity puts emergency crews and the community at serious risk.

Evacuation orders are expanding to the south side of Arlington due to ongoing fire activity. Residents should prepare to leave immediately and follow directions from public safety personnel.

Road Closures:

  • Arlington Ave. closed in both directions between La Sierra Ave. and Crest View Dr.
  • Northbound traffic on Mitchell Ave. shut down at Arlington Ave.

Evacuation Center:

  • La Sierra Community Center - 5215 La Sierra Ave.
