Today, the House of Representatives voted to pass the final four appropriations bills: Department of Defense (DoD) Appropriations Act, 2026; Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026; Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, (THUD) And Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026; and the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026. The passage of these bills ultimately completes the annual appropriations process through a committee-led approach and restores regular order to the federal budget process. Congressman Bruce Westerman (AR-04) released the following statement:
"For years, Congress has relied on bloated and reckless stopgap spending bills, ultimately leaving future lawmakers to deal with a compounding fiscal issue. Today, the House has restored regular order and fiscal sanity to the federal budget process by successfully passing all twelve appropriations bills. House Republicans are continuing to deliver on their promises to the American people by lowering the level of discretionary spending to steward their tax dollars well and work in the way Congress was intended. I'm proud of the job my Republican colleagues have done to put the American people first and apply commonsense, conservative principles to such an integral part of the role we play as lawmakers."
