This year, BNSF will observe the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25, and the New Year's holiday on Wednesday, December 31, and Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Christmas Holiday
Empty Shuttles
Customers with empty trains arriving at the loading facility after 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, may elect to move their official spot time to 6 a.m. Friday, December 26. During this time frame, trains may be loaded if desired.
Loaded Shuttles
Customers with loaded trains arriving at an unload facility after 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, may elect to move their official spot time to 6 a.m. Friday, December 26. During this time frame, trains may be unloaded if desired.
New Year's Holiday
Empty Shuttles
Customers with empty trains arriving at the loading facility after 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, may elect to move their official spot time to 6 a.m. Friday, January 2. During this time frame, trains may be loaded if desired.
Loaded Shuttles
Customers with loaded trains arriving at an unload facility after 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, may elect to move their official spot time to 6 a.m. Friday, January 2. During this time frame, trains may be unloaded if desired.
In either case, customers who elect to move their spot time must contact BNSF Grain Operations at least eight hours in advance and advise of their intentions for train, power and crew planning purposes.
There are no allowances beyond the time frames specified. Origination Efficiency Payment (OEP) or Destination Efficiency Payment (DEP) will be lost if customer(s) elects to operate outside of these allowances.
CARLOAD TRAIN SERVICE
While carload train service will continue uninterrupted over the holidays, BNSF intends to limit yard, local and road-switch assignments at terminals in line with customer activity and demand. Note that connecting carriers with reduced operations due to the holidays might result in delays for interline traffic.
Please consult Demurrage Tariff 6004-C for details on free time and charges applicable for Christmas and New Year's.

Customer Support will maintain a limited staff on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve until 6 p.m. Normal coverage will resume on the Friday following each holiday.
