Spring Starts in the Heart of it All

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - Spring is showing off in Ohio - and there's no better time to get out and explore. The Ohio Spring Events Guide is back with 440 more events across the state, making it easy to shake off winter and step into the season.

New this year, local America 250-Ohio events celebrating the nation's semiquincentennial are featured throughout the guide and marked with a star icon on both the web and downloadable versions.

"Spring is the perfect time to try something new-and our Spring Events Guide makes it easy," said State Tourism Director Sarah Wickham. "Pick one place you've never been or one event you've never tried, and go-you might be surprised what you discover."

The 2026 Ohio Spring Events Guide is available now at Ohio.org and can be viewed digitally or downloaded for free. Media outlets, bloggers, and local tourism partners are encouraged to share and highlight events in their regions using #SpringInOhio and #OhioTheHeartOfItAll.

Why This Guide Matters to Ohio Communities

TourismOhio research shows that one in four people visiting friends or relatives in Ohio never leave the house. That means missed opportunities to explore local communities-and missed business for local shops, restaurants, and attractions. The good news: even adding one or two activities can significantly improve the overall visitor experience.

"Events like these bring energy into our communities," said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development. "They create opportunities for small businesses, bring people into our downtowns, and help drive long-term economic growth."

Events in the Spring Events Guide are submitted by Convention & Visitors Bureaus (CVBs), ensuring the listings reflect what makes each community unique, including:

• Flower festivals and u-pick farms like Bloom Woods Flower Farm Tulip Fest in Malta.
• Concerts, film screenings, and theater productions like Ohio Goes to the Movies Movie Night: "Best in Show" in Ottawa.
• America 250 special events like the 250 Buckeye Train and Transportation Celebration in Dennison.
• Craft shows and markets like the Powell Street Market.
• Sporting events like the Dayton Dragons Baseball Opening Day.

A Tool for Local Storytelling
