Denver, November 2, 2026 - Today, Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold is highlighting the process of counting ballots and reporting results, including when to expect unofficial results reporting on Election Night, November 3, 2026.
"Ballots must be returned to a drop box or voter center, or received by your County Clerk by mail, by 7:00 PM on Election Day. After that, election workers will continue to count ballots, voters can correct signature discrepancies, and the statewide audit is held to confirm the results," said Secretary of State Jena Griswold. "Colorado's election officials work diligently to ensure the process remains secure, accurate, and transparent."
Counties began processing ballots on October 19, 15 days before Election Day. After polls officially close at 7:00 PM on Election Day, counties will upload those results to the state's centralized Election Night Reporting (ENR) System.
Election Night Reporting (ENR)
The link to Election Night Reporting results will be posted on the Colorado Secretary of State's website, including on the home page and at GoVoteColorado.gov. Counties may also post results to their websites but are not required to do so.
In Colorado, results are not reported based on the manner in which ballots are cast. However, as counties can start reviewing signatures and processing ballots 15 days before Election Day, early in-person ballots and mail ballots received before Election Day will likely be processed and reported prior to in-person and mail ballots cast or received on Election Day.
The biggest variable impacting reporting unofficial results is the number of Coloradans who vote in advance of Election Day relative to those who vote on Election Day. As counties continue to upload results periodically through the night, you can track progress by referencing the color-coded statuses that are used in the "counties reporting" map to indicate at what point they are in the process.
For more information on election dates and deadlines, please visit www.GoVoteColorado.gov. Note: If a court extends polling hours in any county, results will not be posted by the Secretary of State's Office until polls are closed in every county.
Ballot Issue 7A
Results for Ballot Issue 7A will be aggregated on the ENR site for all 12 counties with voters in the Special District.
Results in the following counties will be updated alongside all other county results: Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Jefferson, Larimer, Las Animas, Pueblo, and Weld.
Adams and Arapahoe Counties will separately upload results to their respective county websites (Adams County site, Arapahoe County site). Both county's election websites will contain their county-specific results and will have a hyperlink to the ENR website. In addition, Adams and Arapahoe 7a results will be posted to the statewide page at approximately 7:30 PM, 9:00 PM, and 10:30 PM on Election Night. Aggregated results of all 12 counties, with specific breakouts for Adams and Arapahoe counties, will be prominently displayed at the top of the ENR site. Adams and Arapahoes county ENR website sub-pages will feature the county-specific vote total, also.
After Election Day, the ENR banner and Adams and Arapahoe county ENR website sub-pages will be updated at least once every weekday by 4:00 PM MT through the cure deadline on November 12, with the exception of Veteran's Day, November 11.
Candidate Withdrawals
Duane L Gurule, Democratic candidate for State Senate District 35, submitted paperwork to withdraw from the General Election. Mr. Gurule's name will not be displayed on the ENR site.
