Land and student collaborate on research presentation

Blending an unusual pair of topics, the pair brought together data analytics and beauty, creating a unique and eye-catching presentation.

"The project itself was well received at the 2025 Undergraduate Research Showcase," Land said. "Several attendees commented on how relevant and practical [Sundstrom's] analysis was, especially given her experience in the medical spa field. It was exciting to see her blend data analytics with an industry she already knows and hopes to pursue after graduation. It was especially rewarding to connect her with one of my longtime industry collaborators for data collection. She handled those professional interactions with confidence and curiosity."

The pair's collaboration highlights the strength of connection between students and professors at the College of Business and Economics.

"Working with Lucy was a real pleasure," Land said. "She's a very driven student who took great initiative throughout the project. It's always deeply rewarding to mentor such motivated and hardworking students on projects that have direct industry applications. Experiences like this perfectly capture the hands-on, collaborative spirit we strive to foster."
