Despite sluggish population growth, chicken meat production is forecast to be two percent higher in 2027, based on continued solid consumer demand. The overall 2027 import TRQ volumes will reach 122,400 metric tons, with the United States expected to maintain about 80 percent share of total Canadian chicken meat imports. As the only CPTPP supplier, Chile consolidates its position as a major source for chicken imports, while Ukraine emerges as a new player in the frozen chicken import market driving trade away from Brazil.
