HAYWARD, Calif., July 1, 2026 11:55 a.m.-The Hayward Police Department is providing an update regarding the AMBER Alert issued earlier today for 3-month-old Maxence Sirois.
The AMBER Alert was issued after Maxence Sirois was not returned to his father as required under a court-ordered custody agreement. Investigators identified the child's mother, Marina Kazakova, as the suspect and believed she had fled with Maxence in a white 2016 Mazda CX-5.
On July 1, 2026, the California Highway Patrol located the suspect vehicle in a parking lot near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Veteran Avenue in Los Angeles. Officers subsequently located Marina Kazakova nearby and took her into custody without incident.
Maxence Sirois was found safe and unharmed. The Hayward Police Department is currently working to reunite Maxence with his father.
The Hayward Police Department extends its sincere gratitude to the California Highway Patrol, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and our allied law enforcement partners for their outstanding collaboration, dedication, and swift response in bringing this incident to a safe resolution.
We also thank the media and community members who quickly shared information about the AMBER Alert. Your assistance played an important role in raising awareness and helping bring this case to a successful conclusion.
