The City's Employee Engagement Advisory Committee, in conjunction with Creative Greensboro, hosts the Taste of the Asian/Pacific Islander Diaspora at 5:30 pm on Thursday, May 21, at the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St. Guests must register at www.greensboro-nc.gov/HRTickets for this free event.
The gathering marks the second program in the Human Rights Department's Taste of the Diaspora: Foodways & Futures, a four-part cultural mixer series that celebrates heritage through diaspora foodways, community storytelling, and arts engagement, while also strengthening public awareness of City resources and civic engagement opportunities.
The Taste of the Asian/Pacific Islander Diaspora celebrates the history and traditions of Asia and the Pacific Islands with cultural performances and foods inspired by Asian, Polynesian, Melanesian, and Micronesian cuisine prepared by local chefs. The series' first event in February featured African culture, while future events will center on Hispanic (September 24) and European (November 18) heritage.
The Human Rights Department promotes mutual understanding, respect, and fair treatment for all Greensboro residents, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, or familial status. For more information, visit www.greensboro-nc.gov/HR.
