On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my best wishes to Kiribati as it commemorates the 46th anniversary of its independence on July 12.
The United States is committed to partnering with Kiribati on issues important to both our countries to create a more prosperous, peaceful, and secure future. Together, we will work under the U.S.-Kiribati Treaty of Friendship to honor the longstanding bonds between our peoples and strengthen economic links between our countries.
To His Excellency President Taneti Maamau and to all citizens of Kiribati, congratulations on this important milestone.
