The City of North Port is inviting residents to its upcoming Town Hall: How City Government Makes Decisions, the first event in the reintroduced North Port Community Town Hall Series. This interactive session is designed to demystify how local decisions are made and give residents a clear, accessible way to learn how their input shapes policies, projects, and priorities.

The Town Hall is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. at Suncoast Technical College, 4445 Career Lane. Residents will hear directly from City leadership about how ideas move from community feedback to Commission discussion and ultimately to action, including how the City's budgeting process works and how major initiatives are evaluated.

"As North Port continues to grow, we are using Town Halls as a way to create dialogue, elevate community voices and strengthen trust," Marketing and Engagement Manager Katya Sutherland said. "Through events like these, the City aims to ensure residents have a clear view into how their participation influences outcomes."

Residents will have multiple opportunities to ask questions, share feedback, and engage directly with City leadership and department representatives. Sessions will be recorded and made available online for those who cannot attend in person.
