Michigan Corn Growers Association Applauds House Passage of Farm Bill, Calls for Action on E15

The Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) today welcomed the U.S. House of Representatives' bipartisan passage of the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567) by a vote of 224-200. The legislation reauthorizes critical farm programs that Michigan corn growers and rural communities rely on, including conservation, trade, credit, rural development, research, and energy titles.

Ag leaders in the House indicated that a vote on a bill to expand year-round consumer access to fuels with 15% ethanol blends, or E15, would be voted on in a couple of weeks.

"Today's vote is a hard-won victory for Michigan agriculture," said John Delmotte, president of the Michigan Corn Growers Association. "After a week of uncertainty on the House floor, members on both sides of the aisle came together to deliver a Farm Bill that gives our growers the certainty and support they need to keep feeding and fueling our state and our country. We are grateful to every member of Michigan's delegation who stood with us and to the thousands of growers across the U.S. who called their representatives and made their voices heard."

MCGA thanked Representatives Barrett, Bergman, Huizenga, James, McClain, McDonald, Rivet, Moolenaar, and Walberg for their leadership and votes in support of H.R. 7567.

The bill now moves to the U.S. Senate for consideration, where MCGA urges swift action to send a final Farm Bill to the President's desk.

MCGA also called on members of the House to support the upcoming vote to allow year-round E15 sales, which would help Michigan growers by expanding ethanol sales while also saving consumers money at the pump at a time when fuel prices are at their highest in four years.
