The City of Colorado Springs today announced that Skyler Rorabaugh has been selected as the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PRCS) director following a national search process. His appointment is pending City Council confirmation.
Rorabaugh currently serves as Manager of Pikes Peak - America's Mountain, where he oversees a complex enterprise operation serving more than one million visitors annually. He brings more than 25 years of experience in recreation, operations, and public service leadership, with a strong track record in strategic planning, partnerships and community-focused programming. He is committed to expanding access to parks, recreation and cultural opportunities that enhance quality of life and create meaningful experiences for residents now and in the future.

"He is an innovative problem-solver who navigates complex challenges; including our current budget realities; with creativity, discipline, and a focus on long-term impact. Having served the City in a key leadership role, he understands how essential these services are to quality of life in Colorado Springs. I'm confident he will build strong partnerships and keep our parks, recreation, and cultural services vibrant and accessible for all."
Prior to his role with the City, Rorabaugh served as Director of Campus Recreation at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where he led operations, programming and long-term planning for recreation and wellness facilities serving students, faculty and the broader community.
The PRCS Department manages the City's parks system, trails, open spaces, recreation programs and cultural services, and is responsible for more than 18,000 acres of park land, 300 miles of trails, 130+ playgrounds and a team of more than 250 full-time staff, playing a critical role in enhancing quality of life, supporting community wellness and preserving Colorado Springs' natural assets for future generations.
