On October 16, WeACThosts a virtual Lunch and Learn to discuss the Cumulative Impacts Law and its importance, the rulemaking process for implementing the law, and how community advocates can be involved.
The event will feature NYLPI Staff AttorneyNiki Cross and speakers from Earthjusticeand South Bronx Unite.
The Cumulative Impacts Law has the potential to prevent further environmental injustices in Disadvantaged Communities and is set to take effect at the end of this year. Currently, DEC is in the rulemaking process for implementing this bedrock environmental justice law. Advocates must be at the table at every step of the process to make our voices and demands heard.
