WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that Nevada will receive more than $4 million in federal funding through the Secure Rural Schools program (SRS), which provides essential funding for schools, roads, and law enforcement in rural communities across Nevada. Senator Rosen helped introduce the bipartisan Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act, which became law at the end of last year, extending the U.S. Forest Service's Secure Rural Schools program through 2026 and authorizing retroactive payments for the 2024 and 2025 fiscal years.
"Rural communities across Nevada rely on the Secure Rural Schools program to support funding for schools, roads, law enforcement, and more," said Senator Rosen. "I'm proud to see that more than $4 million is coming to our state to boost critical services in our local communities. I'll always keep working across party lines to deliver federal funding for our state."
Senator Rosen has consistently fought to deliver results for Nevada's rural communities and ensure that rural communities receive the funding and resources that they need. Just last year, Senator Rosen helped secure nearly $34 million in federal funding for essential services, and introduced legislation to help increase the number of medical professionals for rural areas.
