Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands Cai Weiming Visits Agricultural Projects and Farmland in Solomon Islands

On February 17, the first day of the Chinese New Year, Ambassador Cai Weiming conducted a field visit to some agricultural sites in and around Honiara, the capital of Solomon Islands. He was accompanied by Hon. Wasi, Minister of Agriculture of Solomon Islands. Ambassador Cai went into the fields and farms, engaging in cordial discussions with farm managers and technicians to gain detailed insights into crop cultivation and maintenance, processing procedures, and economic returns.

Ambassador Cai noted that visiting local agricultural sites on the first day of the Chinese New Year held special significance. He stated that in the new year, China is willing to strengthen agricultural cooperation with Solomon Islands and support the sustainable development of its agriculture.

Minister Wasi welcomed Ambassador Cai's visit to agricultural sites at the beginning of the Chinese New Year. He expressed Solomon Islands' desire to enhance exchanges and cooperation with China in the agricultural sector, introduce advanced agricultural technologies, improve local agricultural productivity and modernization, and safeguard food security.
