Monroe County: Traffic Shift Scheduled for Rumble Road Railroad Crossing Safety Project

WHAT:
Contractors with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will implement a traffic shift as part of the Rumble Road Railroad Crossing Safety Project. The existing railroad crossing at the intersection of Rumble Road and Gose Road will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed railroad crossing located at the intersection of State Route 19/US 41, Evans Road, and Rumble Road.

Advance warning signs have been placed to notify motorists ahead of this operation. Drivers are urged to remain alert in the work zone, reduce speeds, and use caution around workers and equipment.

WHEN:
Beginning Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

WHERE:
County Route 34 (Rumble Road) at the intersection of Evans Road in Smarr, Georgia (Monroe County)
