Cities United Summit Canceled Due to Predicted Inclement Weather

Over the last several days, we have closely monitored the major winter storm expected to arrive in Georgia later this week. We have been in frequent contact with the National Weather Service, the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, trusted meteorologists, and state and transportation officials as forecasts continue to evolve.

Based on the best information available and out of an abundance of caution for the safety and security of our members and guests, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Cities United Summit scheduled for this weekend. The predicted impacts across Atlanta and north Georgia present significant travel and safety concerns due to the high likelihood of freezing rain and other wintry precipitation. We also recognize that many of your communities may be affected and we want you focused on local needs.

GMA will issue full refunds for Summit registrations and training. Please be patient as refunds are processed individually over the coming days. Additional information regarding refunds will be shared soon. Hotel reservations within the GMA room blocks at the Omni or the AC Marriott will be canceled automatically. Attendees who booked outside the GMA blocks or with different hotels should contact those hotels directly to cancel.

While we regret that weather will prevent our gathering, your safety comes first. GMA remains a resource to you and your communities during this weather event, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
