Securityplus FCU Champions Financial Empowerment at Money Power Day

Securityplus Federal Credit Union proudly participated in Money Power Day, hosted by the CASH (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) Campaign of Maryland, on March 14, 2026, at Poly-Western High School in Baltimore.

Recognized as one of the region's largest free financial fitness fairs, the event brought together community partners, financial institutions, and residents for a day dedicated to financial education and empowerment.

Money Power Day provides individuals and families with access to valuable financial workshops, resources, and tools designed to strengthen financial well-being. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about budgeting, credit building, savings strategies, tax resources, and other essential topics that support long-term financial stability.

Securityplus Federal Credit Union team members volunteered throughout the day, engaging with attendees and providing guidance to help individuals make informed financial decisions. Anthony Carpenter, Vice President of Business Services, and Jessica Taylor, Senior Business Services Specialist, led Securityplus' presence in the Small Business Zone, where they connected with aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to share insights on business growth, financial resources, and partnership opportunities available through the credit union.

Additional Securityplus team members - Rhonda White-Johnson, Kimberlee Hughes Armstrong, Dion Rayford, Cheryl Wizzard, Jeff Gehris, Erin Thompson, Charlita Stevenson, and Obinna "Obi" Ndukwe, Chief People and Impact Officer - supported the event in various capacities, from youth financial literacy engagement to assisting attendees and contributing to the overall success of the day.

"Money Power Day reflects the power of community partnerships and the impact financial education can have on individuals and families," said Obinna "Obi" Ndukwe, Chief People and Impact Officer of Securityplus Federal Credit Union. "We are proud to support initiatives that provide people with the knowledge, resources, and confidence they need to make informed financial decisions. I am especially grateful to our team members who volunteered their time to help make this event meaningful for our community."

Through participation in events like Money Power Day, Securityplus Federal Credit Union continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing financial wellness and expanding access to resources that empower individuals, families, and small businesses.

By showing up, engaging, and educating, Securityplus reinforces its mission of strengthening the communities it serves and helping members build a more secure financial future.
