Glascock County: Road closure scheduled for bridge replacement

Edge Hill, Ga. - Barford Road is scheduled to close to traffic at Joe's Creek on Monday, January 5, 2026. The existing bridge at this location, constructed in 1960, is structurally deficient. Gregory Bridge Company has been awarded a $1.99 million project to replace the existing bridge. The closure is expected to last until June 2026. Detour: Edgehill-Avera Rd. west to SR 171, SR 171 north to Barford Rd.

Please note, schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Drivers are advised to exercise caution, reduce their speed, stay alert, and watch for workers while navigating work zones.
