California State University, Bakersfield is inviting the entire community to compete in the 2026 CSUB Golf Classic on May 9.
Proceeds from the event, which will be held at the Sundale Country Club, is going to the Staff Forum student scholarship fund and the Department of Criminal Justice to support student scholarships, study abroad opportunities, career development projects and paid internship experiences.
"Student success is at the heart of everything we do," said Raul Navarro, a board member of the university's Staff Forum, which hosts the tournament. "Over the last four years, we've grown into a community driven by purpose and connection. This journey is open to everyone - students, staff, faculty and the greater community coming together in meaningful ways, including through events like golf that strengthen those bonds."
Participation costs vary from $150 for a single player to several tiers of sponsorship opportunities. Registration and sponsorship information for the tournament is available here . Early registration ends on April 25.
Participants will receive dinner, drink tickets and the opportunity to network with community partners and supporters of the Criminal Justice Department.
Last year's tournament raised a net profit of $16,673, half of which went to CSUB's Department of Nursing to support its Global Outreach Program and the other half to eight students through the Staff Forum scholarship fund.
