Chehalis, WA - On Monday, Sept. 1, 2026, the Department of Social and Health Services' Chehalis Community Services Office is relocating from 1247 Harrison Ave. in Centralia to 2025 NE Kresky Ave., Chehalis, WA 98532. The new office is returning the agency's vital public services to Chehalis and can be reached by the Twin Transit Centralia-Chehalis Connector Yellow Route.
"We are excited to be back in the city of Chehalis, welcoming new and returning customers to our new space," said Yvonne Rivera, administrator of the office.
"We look forward to serving Lewis County in this new building, helping residents access much-needed support, care and resources," added Brice Montgomery, director of DSHS' Community Services Division.
The office will open to customers at its permanent location on Sept. 1, 2026, while employees complete the move into the new space. Services will continue without interruption, with support from our DSHS Mobile Office Teams:
While DSHS made permanent relocation plans, the office temporarily relocated last summer to Harrison Avenue when the lease on Hampe Way expired in June 2025. While the Harrison Avenue site was renovated for full operations, DSHS mobile office teams and Chehalis CSO employees set up shop in the parking lot, ensuring service continuity and support for Lewis County customers and employees.
The new office will continue to offer access to the same public benefits and programs like Basic Food, cash and medical assistance as it did in the former location.
DSHS's Adult Protective Services, Developmental Disabilities Administration, Home and Community Services, and WA Cares Fund offices are scheduled to move to the Kresky site by October 2026.
