Tonight’s Paia-Haiku budget meeting canceled due to brush fire in Paia
Mayor Bissen's Community Budget Meeting that had been scheduled for tonight at Pāʻia Community Center Sept. 23, 2025, is canceled due to a brush fire in Pāʻia that resulted in evacuation orders and warnings for multiple areas this afternoon.
A rescheduled date will be announced.
Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) issued evacuation orders shortly after 2 p.m. today. A portion of Baldwin Avenue and Holomua Road are closed due to firefighting efforts. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
