Community invited to celebrate Arbor Day with tree planting at Lindsey Park

The Tyler Trees Committee and the City of Tyler Urban Forestry Division invite the community to celebrate Arbor Day with a hands-on tree planting event on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Lindsey Park (12557 TX-Spur 364 W) from 10 a.m. to noon.

More than 70 new trees will be planted throughout the park, and participants can take home a free potted tree while supplies last. Volunteers will have the opportunity to plant one or more trees and receive a free shirt, lunch, and the chance to win door prizes.

"One of the things that makes Tyler so special is the abundance of trees throughout our city," said Luke Alfaro, City of Tyler Urban Forester/Arborist. "Lindsey Park is one of our most visited parks, and this planting event will help enhance its beauty and provide much-needed shade for years to come."

The City of Tyler proudly holds the Tree City USA designation, recognizing its ongoing commitment to urban forestry and environmental stewardship. The City has maintained this status for 16 consecutive years through efforts like the annual Arbor Day celebration and proclamation.
