This important initiative is fully funded through the Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP) via the Illinois State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program, administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, receives a portion, or in some cases, all of its funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to support projects like this. This program focuses on homes in the area from 19th Street to 16th Street, and from Harlem Avenue to Kenilworth Avenue. It replaces the oldest pipes that connect your home to the water main, helping prevent leaks, breaks, and blockages while ensuring safe, reliable water for your household. Replacing a lead service line costs about $11,000 per home, but through this program it is completely free for eligible residents.
