Presidents Cup teams for this month's event have been locked in after the United States and International team captain's picks were announced on Wednesday, with rising star Jackson Koivun earning a surprise call-up for the Americans.
Koivun was one of two newcomers added to the U.S team, continuing a remarkable rising just three months after leaving colleague to turn professional. The 21-year-old, who won the 3M Open in just his third professional start, becomes the first play since Jordan Spieth in 2013 to play Presidents Cup despite starting the year without a tour card.

Snedeker's other captain's picks are Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay. They join automatic qualifiers Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley and Collin Morikawa for the event at Chicago's Medinah Country Club starting September 25.
Internatonal Team captain Geoff Ogilvy selected three new faces with Colombian Nico Echavarria, Japan's Ryo Hisatsune and Canadian Nick Taylor named as captain's picks alongside Corey Conners, Sungjae Im and Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
The International is led by Adam Scott, making his 12th straight Presidents Cup appearance, alongside fellow Australian Min Woo Lee, Hideki Matsuyama. Si Woo Kim and British Open winner Ryan Fox.
Team USA is chasing a record-extending 11th consecutive victory in the biennial contest but Scott remains upbeat about the International team's prospects.
"We had an International Team dinner in Memphis with Geoff Ogilvy, and I made the point that the guys who were there -- obviously it was more than just 12 guys, but it was guys who were having a big chance to make the team here in the next week, how great it is to see Ryan Fox win the Open right now so close to the Presidents Cup, Tom Kim won the Scottish Open the week before, Min Woo was runner-up, Si Woo is having an incredible year week after week," Scott said in his press conference before the Tour Championship.
"And just that momentum as I come into trying to make the team and this Cup is huge confidence for me to see the other guys playing well. To have six guys here this week, I feel fantastic about that for our International Team. What a great time of year as far as the Presidents Cup goes to have guys in form. That's certainly exciting as we go to Medinah and try and win this thing."
