AUC Chairperson engaged in the AU High-Level Ad Hoc Committee on #SouthSudan

H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the Chairperson of the AU Commission engaged in the AU High-Level Ad Hoc Committee on #SouthSudan (C5+) meeting yesterday, chaired by H.E. @CyrilRamaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit of the Republic of South Sudan; the Prime Minister of Algeria representing H.E. Abdelmadjid Tebboune; the Vice President of Nigeria representing H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the Prime Minister of Rwanda representing H.E. Paul Kagame; & a representative of H.E. Mahamat Idriss Déby.

Also in attendance were H.E. @IsmailOguelleh, President of Djibouti & the Chairperson of IGAD; H.E. @AbiyAhmedAli of Ethiopia; H.E. @WilliamsRuto of Kenya; H.E. @HassanSMohamud of Somalia; the Vice President of Uganda representing H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni; - H.E. Jean-Pierre Lacroix of the UN, representing H.E. @antonioguterres.

In his remarks, the Chairperson underscored the centrality of the Revitalised Agreement as the cornerstone for lasting stability, calling for its full and faithful implementation, sustained inclusive dialogue, and reaffirming the AU's continued support for peace, constitutional order and sustainable development in South Sudan.
