Overnight closure planned for Highway 1 construction at Tank Hill

LYTTON - Drivers are advised that Highway 1 at Tank Hill, 14 kilometres east of Lytton, will be closed overnight from 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, until 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2025.

The closure is necessary to complete final paving work on the roadway.

Checkpoints with traffic-management personnel will be set up at the intersections of Highway 1 and Highway 12, as well as Highway 1 and Highway 8 to provide travellers with information about alternative routes during the closures. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Local traffic will be able to access the Gladwin area, north of Lytton, and Nicomen River Road, south of Spences Bridge. All other traffic will be detoured via Highway 12 and Highway 5. Portable message boards in Cache Creek, Lillooet and Ashcroft will provide further guidance for drivers.

Drivers travelling between the Interior and Lower Mainland can take Highway 3 or Highway 5 as alternative routes.
